Christmas 2011

I can't even explain how much I enjoyed Christmas this year.  Violet made it so incredible.  The older she gets the more fun it becomes!  She knows who Santa is and gets so excited when she sees him on tv or in a book or a stuffed doll of him.  I went a tad overboard on presents for her.. shocker right.  Toys are so fun!  She actually slept in on Christmas morning, Justin and I and his parents were sitting downstairs waiting for the little princess to wake up.  When Justin brought her downstairs her eyes lit up and she ran immediately to the presents that were set up for her.  She was SO excited.  It was awesome, I loved every minute of it.  She has gotten really good at unwrapping presents as well.  Although halfway through the presents she got tired of unwrapping them and I had to do it.  She was ready to just play!  Can't wait for next year with both my girls!

of course right?

And of course I had to make her a Christmas outfit.  It turned out so dang cute.  Probably my favorite thing I've made.  The fabrics I used were adorable.  Love me some Michael Miller.  The shirt is Target and I just added a fabric circle and a bow.  The headband was probably one of my favorite ones I've made, too bad it really only matches this outfit!  I just bought a giant supply of big chunky beads and charms so I can start making the girls necklaces and this is my first one.  Gotta say, love it.  And she actually kept it on and didn't pull at it, its a miracle.

Yesterday we had a family dinner with Justins side of the family.  We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone and letting the three kiddos play.

And since I'm way to prego for very much decorating (aka too tired), this was the only thing I made.  A Christmas tulle wreath.  Simple and cute.

Santa!

At the beginning of December we went to a local breakfast joint in Loomis, one we frequent quite often, for a little Christmas Party for the kids.  Violet got to see Santa and color and decorate a cookie.  Ok, she didn't do much decorating, mostly eating.  She did great with Santa and didn't even cry.  Towards the end of sitting on his lap she got a little testy but besides that she was great!

7.5 Weeks

Yes it's that time where I am about to count down the weeks, days and hours.  I am 31.5 weeks currently and will be induced at 39 weeks.  7.5 weeks people! Holy cow, I am about to be the mother to TWO children.  Can I just tell you how scared I am?  Like crap your pants scared.  Like run away screaming scared.  I am SO over being pregnant (ok lets face it-- I was never not over it) but I am SO not ready for two.  I can barely handle my one child.  Honestly.  I think that I can't keep up with my housework and projects now?  Boy am I in for it.

This little lady is Ka-ka-KRAZY in my belly.  Violet was quite the mover as well, but dear sweet Annabelle never lets up.  She will somersault, kick, punch and dance all day and all night long.  Rarely does an hour go by that I don't feel her.  The kid doesn't sleep already.  Remember how little V slept until recently?  Doomed  I tell ya.

I haven't even gotten anything ready really.  I still need to wash her clothes and put them away, buy newborn diapers and pull out the baby gear like bottles, swings, and all that crap that piles up around your house.  I also still need to buy my double stroller and a couple smaller items.  I pretty much am set because of V.  I have been way too tired to sew and craft so she will only be getting a few of those things.  I have made a few tiny headbands and hats and decorated a few onesies but I haven't gone crazy getting crafty like I did with V.  I would like to get a bloomer/headband set whipped out before she arrives for newborn pics since I probably won't feel up to doing that her first week of life.  We shall see, maybe the Energy fairy will visit in the next week or two.  As for now, I am a walking zombie who huffs and puffs every step she takes.  Literally.  I get out of breath after three steps and have to stop and catch my breath or put my head between my knees so I don't get light headed.

As for my giant belly- if one more person gasps in shock when I tell them I still have almost 8 weeks left, they may get a nice punch in the nose.  I told Justin I want to make a shirt that says "Yes I have 8 weeks left, yes I am a whale"--- and make the number removable so I can update it each week.  I can't tell you how many people assume my due date was last week.  I have decent sized babies and enough amniotic fluid for me, you and your girlfriend.  Hence the moose belly.

Here I am at 29.5 weeks...

And here is me the day before V was born...
see how big this thing gets??

Snack Time With Daddy

Justin's favorite snack is carrots or celery and peanut butter.  He eats it twice a day.   Violet now has to eat it with him every time.  She is obsessed with dipping things and sometimes the only way I can get her to eat is to plop a blob of ranch or peanut butter on her plate.  Check out my sweeties eating their carrots and PB.

Window Watchin'

Violet LOVES to climb up into the chair that's right by our front window.  Anytime the dogs bark or you tell her someone is here she runs straight to it, climbs up and looks out.  She gets so excited when she sees someone and waves like crazy.  I think it may be Justin's favorite part of the day when he pulls up after work and sees her smiling face!

Sticker Mania

Recently I bought V a coloring book and some washable crayons.  I also got her these awesome markers that only color on this certain type of paper, how rad is that.  I am not risking any marker on my walls!  No sir!  Anyways, the coloring book came with a page of stickers.  Sticker madness begin.  I keep finding them stuck to the bottom of my sock.

Fall Decor

I had wanted to decorate my front porch all up for all of Oct and Nov but you know how that goes.  I ended up putting out a few things the day before Thanksgiving.  Oh well, now I have a few items already completed for next year!  I made my mom and I a cute fall wreath and then I copied these adorable yarn pumpkins I saw on Pinterest.  I threw in a gold spray painted one wrapped in mini ball trim and a burlap wrapped one.  They turned out so cute!  If you are going to attempt the yarn covered ones make sure you have LOTS of time.  I only did 2 and they took like over a month to complete.

I took apart a sign on clearance at Joanns for the Harvest

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.  Being prego during the holidays rocks.  You can eat and eat and not feel guilty at all!  We hosted a breakfast for Justin's family in the morning.  Justin made some delish dishes like berry cream cheese coffee cake and a big egg scramble type thing.  V got to play with her cousin Landon and meet Justin's sister and nephew for the first time as well.  We had an awesome morning.

After that we headed over to my parents house for Thanksgiving dinner with all my sisters.  V took a nap and I got to relax for a few hours with a very full tummy.  I could eat a turkey dinner every night.  Sooooo good!  Around 5 we went up to Georgetown to visit my cousins who were in town with their kiddos from Utah.  Violet had soooo much fun.  She played nonstop and completely wore herself out!

It was a very long yet very fun day.  Love spending time with all my family!

16 Months

Violet turned 16 months on November 2nd.  Can't believe she is almost 1 1/2!  She weighs almost 26 pounds now.  She doesn't miss many meals...She seems to get smarter everyday, along with messier everyday.  I don't get how one little person can make soooo many huge messes in a matter of minutes.  Our house (every room) is in constant disarray.  If I want to go upstairs to get dressed or even brush my hair, she has to go with me.  And then she has to pull everything out of the bathroom drawers and take half of it to her room.  You could literally break your ankle walking through my house.  I won't even get started on the snacks that get crushed all over.  I think when you decide to be a mom you decide to be a maid too.

V has started to say lots of things.  She tries to copy us all the time.  Some of the words she frequently says are yucky, stinky, yuck, Barney, Caillou (eyeee), Lets Go, What you doing, doggie, woof woof, uh oh, baby, num num (thats feeding her baby sound effects).  We have a book with pictures of lots of things like an apple, ball, flower, cat, etc and when you ask her where each one is she points at the correct one.  She is obssessed with reading books.  You ask her to bring you one and she will spend the next 10 minutes bringing you EVERY book she owns.  And then she wants you to read them all.

She is a funny girl and will go and get a diaper out and then lay on the floor waiting for a diaper change... even if I didn't ask her to get one.  She like to change the TV channel and turn the overhead light and fan on also.  Oh and recently she HAS to turn the bathroom light off after a bath.  She still loves baths and will sit in there even after I have let the water out.  She even pours the water over her head (into her eyes) just like mommy does to wash her hair.

She is at the stage where she wants to do everything herself.  She doesn't want help.  She freaks out if I'm drinking something, especially in a water bottle or a soda.  She wants it and doesn't want me to help her.  Sometimes I get frustrated with the tantrum that ensues so I let her pour the whole water bottle over herself.  The only problem with that is that she doesn't seem to mind being soaking wet.  Or if I'm eating something.  She has to be eating it too.  Its like a little puppy dog.

She loves to flush the toilet but I don't think she is anywhere near being able to actually go potty in it.  She loves to use a fork and LOVES to dip her food in sauce.  Give the girl some ranch and she will eat whatever you put in front of her.  She isn't very good at juice boxes -- she drinks about half without a problem and then squeezes the box and it squirts everywhere.  She also recently has been squeezing those baby food squeeze packs.. right onto my living room rug.

She is great about not touching dog poop.  Miracle right?? I guess with as many dogs as we have she is used to it and just points to it for me to clean up.  She could play outside for hours on end and her favorite toy out there is the dog bowls.  She carriers them all over the yard. She loves airplanes and as soon as she hears one she looks for it and points. She still copies me also when I yell at the dogs.  She waves her arms and yells jibberish with doggie in there somewhere.

She is a terror at any store we go to.  She refuses to sit in the front basket so she rides in back.  She crushes and stomps all the boxes, starts eating snacks and her favorite... to dump the snacks through the holes in the bottom of the cart.  Last week I caught her squeezing one of those baby food things through the hole.  I pretty much am OVER running any errands unless its a quick trip to safeway with her.  Its not worth my sanity.  And DO NOT go down any aisle with toys or trinkets of any kind.  She freaks out.  Especially the baby doll row and the one with the toy dogs that bark.  (Yes she has one-- I wasn't in the mood for the tantrum that day). And balloons... darn Safeway for having like 50 balloons throughout the store.  You can always find a balloon at our house now.  A few weeks ago the craziness reduced me to tears.  She stepped on a huge bottle of dish soap in the cart and it spilled all over her and all my groceries.  I didn't notice till I was loading them in the car.  The  darn prego hormones made me lose it.

She still loves Caillou, ok, more than loves.  She likes Barney and still enjoys watching both shows on my phone.  She also loves looking at pictures of herself on my phone.  And recently she is hooked on watching videos of herself on the Flip video camera.  She will watch that thing till the battery dies and then cry and cry.  She loves to pretend to talk on the phone with my phone or a pretend one.  She will have full on conversations.  She loves Britney Spears and dances to her songs.  I have one of her videos on my phone and V will sit and watch the whole thing.  She also goes crazy in the car when I play the Selena Gomez CD (dork I know).

She loves to dance and recently started singing.. the words make no sense but you can tell she is singing.  If you start singing a song she joins in with her own rendition.  Her favorite toys are her baby dolls and their strollers and cribs.  A true girl.  She still doesn't like headbands but has gotten a little better.  Hats too.  She hates socks but would wear her outdoor boots all day if I let her.  She loves lotion and will have me put some in her hand over and over and over.

She can throw a mean tantrum and throw herself on the ground and does it quite frequently lately.  She actually understands the things we say to her which is pretty cool.  She is an early riser which I don't love, but hey atleast she usually sleeps through the night.

Oh and this is hilarious.. she has an alter ego.  Seriously.  She is obsessed with pretending to be blind.  It is the FUNNIEST thing ever.  We call her Helen Keller.  She walks around with her eyes shut, bumping into stuff with the hugest grin on her face.  She even eats like that sometimes.  This happens a few times a day.  Justin and I are like, "Helens here".  Its the wierdest yet the funniest thing ever.  Maybe she thinks we can't see her?

Allright, well that is all I can think of right now about our sweet, crazy, messy Violet.  She is definitely a hand full and definitely a pure joy.  I better get back to cleaning!

no its not open... I think she has enough energy without an energy drink!
