Thanksgiving

We had a really nice Thanksgiving this year, we got to see both families.  I spent the evening before and the whole morning of cooking up some goodness to take with us.   I made carmelized yams, green bean casserole, pumpkin dip for apples and nilla wafers, cranberry salsa and mini cinnamon cheesecakes with pumpkin frosting.  Everything I made was a healthy low carb version and it all turned out delicious!

The green bean casserole was the best I have ever had!  The cranberry salsa was poured over a block of cream cheese and eaten with celery sticks and crackers.  It was the biggest hit! I will definitely be making it many more times.

Halloween Church Outfits

Seems like theres a ton of different posts necessary for Halloween! Last one I promise.  I wanted the girls to have something cute for church to wear and for during the day of Halloween.  I bought them personalized iron vinyl for their shirts and then made some rag skirts to match.  The skirts were really easy-- just tear strips of fabric and knot onto a piece of elastic-- but super time consuming.  Took longer than expected.  I might have them wear them again for Thanksgiving since I added in some brown fabric.  All these darn holiday outfits I make that they can wear once!

Bishops Pumpkin Farm

I hadn't been to Bishops Pumpkin Farm since I was little.  Wow.  That place is so cool now!  We had so much fun.  It isn't very far away either.  Next year I wanna try and go a couple times.  Vi got to ride a pony again and was in pure heaven.  Annabelle was pretty tired the whole time but did awesome.  She is such a good baby most of the time.

Pumpkin Pics...

This is what she does when we say smile.. opens her mouth really wide!

Face painting was a must.  She LOVED it.  She sat so still and was good.

Of course we had to Tinkerbelle. With glitter.

Train Ride Time!

Her favorite thing of all.. the pony rides.  I seriously wish you could just pay like $25 for a full half an hour or something.

LOVE this picture

The petting zoo was another favorite.  Sooo cool.  I'd say it was my favorite too.  I love animals.  So cute.  She even got to feed the goats.  And of course, she weasled her way behind a gate and into the goats actual barn where your not supposed to go.  And she wouldn't listen to me to come back.  Oye.

And a big 'ol round of hay jumping.

At the end Vi helped me eat a delicious slice of Apple pie and ice cream.  And I HAD to get a caramel apple to take home.  To share of course.  Vi and Justin picked out a couple pumpkins to paint or carve too.  Unfortunately they are still sitting on our front porch sans carvings or paint.  Hmmm.. maybe a Christmas pumpkin?

Apple Hill

We went to Apple Hill a few weeks ago for our annual trip.  Unfortunately it was the first day it was actually cold and rainy.  We were NOT prepared.  No jackets or coats and Vi had sandals on.  It was super freezing.  And raining on us.  It ended up being a short trip.  We didn't even eat lunch, pie, carmel apples or buy any apples to take home.  Boo.

We rode the train first and then went over to High Hill to see the pond and walk around the tents.  Vi ate a few apples and I atleast got a cup of hot cider.  Violet's favorite part was the pony ride. It was her first time and she was BEYOND excited.  She had the biggest grin the whole time and started crying her eyes out when it was over.

Well of course, miss spoiled, got another ride for free.  The lady running it felt bad and let her go again.  We had another big bout of crying after that as well.  She is obsessed with pony rides now.

Hopefully we will get another trip in before the year is over on a better weather day.. or atleast be bundled up this time.
