Sewin' and Craftin'

I have been trying to make a few things for Annabelle before she gets here but its hard to find the time.  Nap time is my only free time and I usually use that time to clean or do laundry or sometimes even nap myself.  I have made a bunch of headbands for her though.  I didn't really start making a bunch for V until she was a little older so I knew I needed newborn size ones.  I also made a cute new nursing cover and a bunch of newborn leg warmers.  I still want to make a carseat cover (I made one for V but don't like the fabric anymore), a bloomer headband set for newborn pics and finish a couple onesies up for her as well.

I made these adorable onesies for V and her which I think I will use for her newborn pics.  I bought H&M onesies for cheap and then decked them out.  I love the colors.

They are eggplant color if you can't tell.  I added knit collars, cream lace detailing, gold ribbons and gray dot stretch lace.  I made matching leg warmers as well as headbands.
I am obsessed with matching the girls.  I have bought a bunch of matching stuff, more for this summer.  I also made a bunch of matching headbands.  I swear I would one of those moms of twins who had them wear the exact same thing every day.  I'm a nut.

Here is one set I made, complete with monogram buttons.  Thats another obsession- monograms and personalization
I bought this really cool iron on vinyl for really cheap off a daily deals website and though I would try it out.  I don't have a fancy vinyl cutter yet, (YET means I REALLY want one-- a silhouette cameo infact).  So I had to cut by hand the design I wanted.  I went with a monogram.. big surprise.  It turned out so cute and looks better than I thought.

How cute is that?  Her middle name will be Faith by the way.  I also have hot pink and turquoise vinyl.  I think it would be cute to use a paper punch of maybe a butterfly and then iron them in a cute pattern on a t-shirt or onesie.  Or maybe "big sister" and "little sister" ones.

I also wanted to share the shopping cart cover I made V a few months ago.  It turned out so cute but is such a waste.  She never uses it.  She has refused to ride in the front of the cart for over 6 months.  And as far as resturant use- well lets just say she is a MESSY eater and I can't see having to wash it every time we go somewhere.  I know I know, thats so retarded to say but hey, I spent so much time on the darn thing.  I figure Annabelle will get more use out of it since I will have it when she first starts sitting in the cart.

I used Heather Bailey fabric which if you haven't checked out, you should.  Best patterns and colors ever.  Love it.

So hopefully I will have more to show you later this week.  I have to finish this week.  Yup that rights, only more week!  I go to the dr. on Thursday for an ultrasound to see how big she it and then Monday I go back to schedule my induction FOR THAT WEEK.  YAHOOOOO.  Baby A could be here as early as the 7th!

18 Month Stats

V had her 18 month checkup last week.  Besides picking up that terrible flu bug it went well.  She now weighs 26 lbs 5 oz which is the 76th percentile.  Started out at the 95th or so and slowly working our way down.  Our little chub isn't so chubby anymore I guess.  Ok, still pretty chubby. She is 32 inches tall which is the 58th percentile or so.  And of course, it isn't any surprise, her head is still in like the 86th percentile.  Average height, slighly chubby, with a GIANT head.  I clearly have a bobble head for a child.  Wonder if Annabelle will be similar...

Btw- my current guess for Annabelle's size is 8 lbs and 21 inches long.  Shes a biggin'.  Two more weeks folks.

leopard print goes with anything!

Birthday Get Away

For Justin's 31st birthday we decided it was time to get away for a night without V, for the first time.  Scary I know.  We went up to North Lake Tahoe and stayed in these cute little cabin/cottages we had previous stayed at when we got engaged.  They are really affordable and super cute, check them out if you need a place to stay in North Lake-- www.rusticcottages.com.

My parents watched Violet for us and from what we hear she did awesome!  Besides the fact that she got that awful stomach flu that's going around the night we left.  My mom found throw up in her bed (packnplay) Sunday morning.  My poor little baby.  The first time she throws up and I am not there!  But besides that it all went well.  She napped there and slept all night long.  So proud of my little monkey.  Proud of me too for actually leaving her.  I have never been away from her for more than a few hours so this was a big step for mommy.

I had a lot of fun spending alone time with my man and actually eating a meal without a toddler was amazing.  We wern't there all that long and realized next time two nights would be better.  You just start to relax and it's time to go home already.  I def. missed V and had to force myself not to look at pictures of her on my phone.  Its crazy how exhausting she is and how I always wish I could take a break, and then the minute I get one I miss her like crazy!  That's how it goes I suppose.

Funny thing happened on our little trip.  On our way up there I realized my temporary implant was loose.  If you were not aware, I have a fake tooth in the top front of my mouth.  Right now its temporary while I wait for the permanent one to be made.  We stopped for some temp. bonding stuff at the drug store so I could try to fix it.  Bad idea.  When we got there I yanked it out, shoved some bonding in the hole and tried to stick it back onto the metal implant.  Uh oh.  Not fitting.  My tooth was literally hanging down half a tooths length past the others.  Yes... like a vampire tooth on one side.  I couldn't even bite down.  Can you even imagine how ridiculous this looked?  I kept trying to fix it and nothing.  I planned on sucking it up and dealing with it... maybe eating soup for dinner.  The hubby could not handle it.  He said he couldn't look at me seriously for the whole weekend.  So I sucked it up, and worked and worked to get it back on correctly.  Few hours later and we were back in business.  I will spare you a picture of it (yes we took a dozen).  So there you have it.  Of course that happened right?

18 Months!

I have a one year old? Really? I can't believe my baby is already that big!  Its insane how much smarter she gets each day.  And her personality is hilarious.  I know at 16 months I went over all the stuff she says and does but I have a few more to add to the list.

She HAS to go to bathroom with me everytime.  And now she actually lifts the lid for me and then hands me the toilet paper.  Hilarious.  Such a good helper.  She also loves to flush.  Now if only I could get her to go on the potty!

She can do a ton of animal sounds now.  Its so funny to hear her do it.  Tonight she did a monkey for the first time.. I said "ooo ooo, ahh ahh" and she says "ahhhh ahhh" over and over.  Love it.  She loves to moo, woof, meow, bauk, and now ah ah ah.  She also is obsessed with airplanes.  She waves to them every time.

Two nights ago she told us she wanted to go to bed.  What the heck!?  She got out of my lap, turned the tv off and then reached up to me.  (she knows to turn the tv off before bed)  I was shocked.  So I took her up and she went right to bed.  I could get used to that!  And it was 15 minutes before her bedtime!  Tonight, Justin said "do you want to go to bed?" and she got right up and turned the tv off and was ready.  Such a good little girl!

Her baby dolls still pretty much take over all her playtime.  She carries them around all day, feeding them, rocking them, doing everything she can with them.  Such a girl in that sense.  She also loves to clean.  I caught her wiping the tv with a wash cloth this morning.  She likes to pull wipes out and clean the coffee table and is starting to get better at putting things away if I ask her to.

She loves to eat cereal with milk, in a bowl with a spoon just like a big girl.  And she is quite good at it!  She always wants a spoon or fork with every meal.  I now carry them in my diaper bag.  She loves chapstick and now has her own hello kitty tubes (I got tired of her ruining mine!) and she LOVES lip gloss.  I finally had to get her some wet and wild clear so she could go to town.  She is pretty good at putting it on her lips, but she likes to do it about 30 times in a row.  Atleast with clear she can't get too crazy.

My absolute favorite is still when she gives me random kisses throughout the day.  I could kiss that girl for hours.  She actually makes the kissing noise now with her kisses which is even cuter.  Boy do I love this little girl.

Here's some pics of the lil darling over the past month...

See the pigtails? Love.

Hot Chocolate

Violet loves to play in our pantry.  She rearranges stuff, pulls everything out, and makes a big mess basically.  Her favorite thing to take out is the hot chocolate packets or the cider packets.  We literally have caught her 5 times in the living room with a chewed open packet and powder everywhere.  She likes to spill it on the coffee table so she can finger paint in it.  Time to move the hot chocolate I guess! You'd think we would learn!
